Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited Ramayana is not just a movie — it’s an emotion for millions of Indians! After the massive disappointment of Adipurush, cine-lovers have been eagerly waiting for a true magnum opus that can bring India’s greatest epic to life on a global scale. And it seems the wait will be worth it.
Directed by the brilliant Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being crafted with a massive budget of ₹835 crore, aiming to match the grandeur of Hollywood blockbusters. The star cast is equally powerful: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash portraying the menacing Ravana. Adding to the stellar lineup are veterans like Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, and Indira Krishna in crucial roles.

But that’s not all — some of Hollywood’s top talents are also part of the project! Legendary music composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer are collaborating to create a once-in-a-lifetime soundtrack. The film’s VFX is being handled by DNEG, the Oscar-winning studio behind visual spectacles like Dune and Inception, led by their CEO Namit Malhotra, who is also producing the film.
With such a dream team behind it, Ramayana promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle never seen before in Indian cinema.
The movie is being made in two parts:Part 1 will release on Diwali 2026 ,Part 2 will hit theatres on Diwali 2027
Now here’s the biggest update: fans won’t have to wait till 2026 to get a glimpse of this epic! According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, the makers are planning to showcase the first look of Ramayana at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES Summit), scheduled to be held in Mumbai from May 1 to May 4, 2025.
A source close to the project shared, “The organizers want WAVES Summit to be one of the biggest entertainment events of the year. Inviting the team of Ramayana and unveiling its first glimpse will be a massive highlight for both the summit and the movie.”
The makers are currently planning whether to release a poster or a teaser video at the event. Though final decisions are still being made, excitement is sky-high. Earlier, there were plans to reveal something on Ram Navami 2024, but it got postponed — making WAVES Summit even more crucial for the first showcase.
If all goes well, fans will finally get their first official glimpse of Ramayana at the WAVES Summit, setting the internet on fire!
